Step by step guide to getting a California Drivers License
1. Complete our Online/Homestudy Course or our Classroom and receive your certificate of completion.
2. Enroll in our Behind the Wheel training, and obtain a proof of enrollment form from us.
NOTE: as of January 2004, the California DMV requires all minors to show proof of enrollment in a drivers training program with a licensed, professional driving school to be eligible to take the California Written Exam.
3. Fill out Form DL44, the DMV License Application form. It must be original and signed by both parents/guardians. We will supply you with this form upon completion of our Online or Classroom course.
4. Make an appointment with your local DMV office to take the written learners permit test. You will need to bring the following to the DMV in order to take the test:
Completion certificate from our Online/Homestudy or Classroom Course
Enrollment certificate from our Behind the Wheel Course
DMV Form DL44 completely filled out
Social Security number
If you have all of the above necessary items and you pass the written test, you will be given a permit. NOTE: Your permit will not become valid until you have had your first 2 hours of Behind the Wheel Training.
Begin driving with your parents. State requirements are 50 hours of supervised driving including 10 at night.
When you have completed all of the above, you may make an appointment to take the final drivers license test.
What to bring to DMV for your CA Driver's License Test:
- Original Completion Certificate for Driver's Training (We will provide this)

- Have proof of insurance and registration in the car or you will not be allowed to take the test!
